The 'Imperial Eagle' seen in front of the mausoleum with the coffin of former German emperor Wilhelm II in the gardens of Castle Doorn near Utrecht, Netherlands, 12 October 2008. Wilhelm II lived in the castle from his abdication in 1918 until his death on June 4th 1941. In his testament Wilhelm II demanded that his corpse must not be brought back to Germany unless monarchy was restored in his fatherland. Doorn country estate was initially confiscated by the Dutch state after WWII, but made accessible to the public as stately funded museum in 1953. Photo: Thomas Burmeister
